Season of Kurinji flower starts after 12 year cycle – a rare event to see

This year kodaikanal, one of the popular hill stations in Tamilnadu, india, will have carpet pale blue of rare kurinji flowers that are native to South India. Kurinji flowers does not grow in any part of the world and making it as a rarest of the event too.

Of over 50 varieties of kurinji flowers the blue ones bloom once in 12 years and can be seen in Kodai, Anamali and Nilgiris. Though the blooms started a year before, 2006 is the peak season that any tourist visiting India do not want to miss.
